Artist Statement
My art and illustrations are based on themes that have made a big impact on my life. Examples of these are my recurring use of flora and diverse body types. I make illustrations and prints like woodcuts and lithography mainly printed on various types of fabrics. Some are mounted on walls, others placed in boxes with a simple mechanism to showcase the rest of the prints on the fabric.
The designs I usually Illustrate in my prints are of female body types closest to mine, fat or overweight, usually with flora replacing one or more body parts. The flora I pick is often because of its symbolism. Another thing I have a tendency of illustrating are object heads. The reasoning behind why I make these designs are mainly based on my odd tendency to talk and listen to all the flora around my old childhood home. I was friends with the trees and had a love for my mom's decorative pots in the small front yard. Spending hours every day digging holes or playing as an apothecary with the plants. Because of those times, I gained a love for nature but I slowly started to hate my body.
